I spent the day at New York City Hall. I rose before dawn to read the political newsletters in preparation for a rapid-fire round of questions with elected leaders, who pass local law legislation to implement law-and-order while keeping Mr. Mayor in check.
I rode the 3-Train from Central Park’s Historic District all the way down to Park Place in Lower Manhattan, minutes away from the Broadway entrance of New York’s “White House.” The weather was wet and rainy. But you become oblivious to this once inside the marble white walls.
